WANSTEAD FORMS A CLUB

ELECTION OF OFFICERS,

A meeting was held at Wanstead on Saturday night last to discuss the advisability, of forming a cricket club. On Mr. R. Wilder’s motion, it was decided to enter two teams in the Central Hawke’s Bay competition, the club to be called the “Eparaima Cricket Club.”

It was decided to accept Mr. Nutt’s offer of a ground, with thanks, and the committee to decide what improvements were necessary on same.

The election of officers resulted as 1 oliowsPresident, Mr J- D. Ormond ; vice-presidents, Mr P. Canning, Mr R. Johnstone; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. B. Johnstone; committee, Messrs. 1. Nutt, r. Wild er, J. Ormond, F. Davey, F. Prebble, E. Caulton and J. Judd, delegates to Central H.B. Union, Messrs- J. B. Johnstone and P. Wilder; selection committee, Messrs. Judd, Wilder, Canning. It was decided that the subscription be 10/-, and that a nomination fee of 5/- be levied this year to defray expenses that would ue incun in augurating the new club. AH subs to be paid by the 31st October ol each year.

The committee were empowered t purc/ase all material such as prac tice nets and mats.
