Miss Landels, of Hastings, is the guost of Mrs A. M, Ferguson Victoria Avenue, Fomuera, Auckland.
Mr and Mrs W, N. Barron, who have been spending an extended holiday in the South, have returned to Hastings, where they intend to resume residence.
Auckland papers announce the death, aged 52, of Mr John A. Endean, son of the late Mr Jno. Endean, for many years proprietor of the Waitemata Hotel. The deceased gentle man for me limo carried on business iu Auckland as a chemist, but some years ago succeeded his father in the hostship of the Waitemata Hotel.
Mr Andrew Thompson, director of the Apia observatory, is representing New Zealand at the international conference on geophysics at The Hague, commencing on September 3. The objects of the conference include arriving at an understanding as to the international use of scientific instruments for recording earthquakes.
