SOUTH ISLAND RE-UNION.
South Island people and their friends are looking forward with delighted anticipation to the great annual re-union of the clans, in the Hastings Assembly Hall to-morrow night. Thia jovial gathering has established a reputation through Hawke's Bay god far beyond the provincial bounds, for good fellowship, hospitality and the height of sociability, with the result that southerners and their North Island friends flock to the centre to foregather and to spend a night of perfect enjoyment in dancing to the measure of the quadrilles, lancers, waltzes and other old time measures. The management have been so very successful in maintaining the high standard of this South Island assemblage that they are exceedingly jealous of its prestige and so their endeavours have ever been in the direction of making each year’s ball a matter of superlative effort.
