The Prime Minister, addressing a large meeting at Douglas Castle, Lanarkshire, devoted much of his speech to a description of his impressions of Canada. In every respect, he said, the Canadian people were a n example to the world ot democracy and were rendering invaluable service to the whole Empire. The secret of Canada’s success was her British character. There was a will to work and a will to confront difficulties and hardship in a spirit of self reliance. PRINCES AT WINNIPEG. The Prince of Wales and Prince George arrived yesterday morning at Winnipeg and were greeted by the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba and civic officials. The Royal visitors had a great welcome at the station and along the route. During the morning the Princes inspected the central heating plain of the Union Stock Yards and in the afternoon played squash racquets and golf at the St. Charles Country Club, afterwards attending the city police sports. To-night the Princes will be guests at a dimer at Government House-
