STORTFORD LODGE SALE. The Associated Auctioneers held their usual weekly sale at Stortford e.odge yesterday, when they offered a Heavy yarding of beef, principally cows, and a medium yarding of sheep to a fair attendance of the public. Jood quality cow beet met with keen competition, but the lighter pens were taken by graz-ers. No outstanding pens of ox beef were yarded, out prices realised for these were well up to late rates. Ewes showed .1 firming tendency on last sale, while hoggets were in slightly poorer demand. WANGANUI CRUTCHING SALE. Wanganui, Aug. 24. At the Wanganui crutching sale tonight there was a representative bench of buyers. Two thousand bales were offered, mostly heavy and seedy. Bidding was devoid of spirit and heavy passings resulted. Dominion scourers were the principal buyers. Good crutchings 9d to lOd, a 'few special up to ll}d, medium 8d to 9d. inferior 6d to Bd. Inferior lots sold more readily than hotter quality.
