QUEENSLANDER'S GAME SCRAPPY. NEW’ZEALAND WINS EASILY. Brisbane, Aug. 24. The New Zealand hockey team played a second Queensland team at the exhibition this afternoon. The New Zealanders gained an easy victory by eleven goals to nil. ’ The Queenslanders, lacking experience and combination, were unable to hold the New Zealanders. The match was in the nature of a try-out, the visitors fielding mostly reserves. The game was without special incidents, although the New Zealanders pleased the onlookers with excellent combination and a knowledge of ail branches of the game. The half-time score was four to nil. Seven more goals were amassed in the second half. Seccombe anti Watts each scored three goals, Bell and Worsfold each two, and Edson one. The play of the local men can only be described as scrappy. In the second half both sides made great efforts to score, Karori were now playing better hockey and ma hseveral assaults on the Greens’ goal mouth but the defence proved too good.
