CRICKET.

CUNNINGHAM NOT WELL. Wellington, Aug. 24. At a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-night, the chairman (Mr. 1). Reese) read an extract from a letter Horn Mr. D. Hay, manager of the New Zealand team, to the effect that Cunningham s condition had given him a good deal of anxiety. English professionals had expressed the opinion that Cunningham was suffering from a sort of contraction of the muscles. He had been sent to a specialist for a fortnight, but it had not done a great deal or good. Consequently Cunningham had not been fit. Mr Hay also stated that Olliver was the best fieldsman in the side, which was the reason he was played so often. At a meeting of the directors of New Zealand Cricket, Ltd., subsequently, the secretary, Mr. A. E. Byrne, reported that to date 11,405 shares had been allotted. The chairman said that it was unlikely that it would be neucessary to call up any more than the 10,- already called up. The secretary reported that the company’s share of the gates up to the Glamorgan match was £2151. ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET. MORE RAIN. London, Aug. 23.
