The stray dog nuisance in Haretaunga street Hastings, is a source of danger to cyclists and motorists. Two dogs tearing helter-skelter across the street last evening got tangled up in the front wheel of a cycle. The rider escaped unhurt, and little damage was done to the cycle. The Hastings Citizens’ Band dance and card party was largely attended last night. The prizes for cards were won by the following:—Ladies; Mrs. L. Taylor Ist, and Mesdaines Scrivener, Overend, McCombe, Stevenson and J. Gordon devided the second prize. Gentlemen: Messrs. G. Nesbitt and A. Don tied for first. Messrs. W. Bennisou and C. Bryant were iii charge of the evening, whilst the music, was supplied by Messrs. R Colbart ami Charters, extras being played by Mrs. Pearce, Messrs Bern nison and Cato. The Monte Carlo dance «;,S won by Mrs. I’fc.re: and 31 r. Fleming.
