N.Z. COAL PRODUCTION
FIGURES FOR LAST YEAR. Wellington, Aug. 22. in view of references made by the Prime Minister In the House of Representatives on Thursday,, to the increased amount of New Zealand coal now being used, it is of interest to note that during 1926, 2,239,969 tons Of coal were produced from all the coal mines of the Dominion. This quantity represents the highest annual production on record, with the exception cf the year 1914, when 2,273,614 tons wore produced. In addition, coal imported into the Dominion during 1926 decreased by 88,655 tons.
