SUPREME COURT

INVERCARGILL SESSIONS. Invercargill, Aug. I*3. The Supremo Court opened before Mr Justice Sim, with eight cases the most serious being a charge against Tryphena Clifford Rao of murdering her four children on April 11. His Honour said the only question was whether tho mental condition of the accused was such as to make her criminally responsible. Referring to the case of Andrew Mofftt, charged with negligently driving a motor car and so causing the death of J. A. Keith, His Honour said “I confess I can not understanding why Moffatt was over committed for trial. As far as I can see, there is no evidence of negligence at all. It would appeal there had been an accident pure and simple. Merely because a man happens to be in charge of a car which capsizes, and as a result of which a man is killed, is no reason why he sfcnuld be arraigned for manslaughter. Tie suggested that the Grand Jury should not return a true bill.
