RUGBY FOOTBALL.
THE WARATAHS. NOT WITHIN 10 POINTS OF 1924 ALL BLACKS. “The Waratahs are a good allround combination, fast and somewhat orthodox behind the scrum and very clever in the forward line,’’ says John Hughes in the “Athletic News.” Hughes does not think the team is within 10 points of the 1924 All Blacks, but predicts they will win a majority of the matches provided they settle down to the softer grounds. Id anything, their weaknesses are in the wing threequarters, the scrummage and half-back. The only snags they need fear are Wales, especially Llanelly, and probably also Scotland and Ireland. — (Sydney “Sup” cable.)
