PROPOSED ABOLITION. a retrogradiTmovement. Oamaru, Aug. 23. The Oamaru North School Committee last night passed a resolution declaring that the abolition of Education Boards was a retrograde movement and net in accord with parents’ wishes nor in the interests of education. It involves depriving the people of rights and privileges conferred by statute and enjoyed for naif a century. The committee emphatically protest against such legislation without a mandate from the electors.
