A remarkable musical event is taking place in Brisbane this week, when a great gathering of young musicians from the schools is being held in the Exhibition Hall. The instructor, Mr. L. A. Pares, has been busy for the past seven months in training children in the use of the violin, and he has got together a great orchestra of one thousand violins, which has performed with great eclat before a huge audience. The Minister of Education addressed the assemblage and praised the enterprise of Mr. Pares. Mr J. Blair, Evangelist, will speak in the Gospel Hall, Karamu road tonight and to-morrow night at 7.30 from the Word of God, on the “Future of the Human Race,” illustrateil by a huge dispensations! chast.
