£lO,OOO COMPANY FORMED HARNESSING SEAS. Sydney, Aug. 11. For several years Mr. Percv A. Charles Bates has been experimenting at Merlin Buy. near Congee, with apparatus which, he hopes, wi.ll harness the waves to create electric power. He now claims that his invention is complete and thao not only is he able to create electric motive power, but that the obstacle of storm interferences has been overcome. The Bates Wave Power Company has been registered with nominal capital of £lO,OOO. divided into £1 shares. The first directors, it is understood, will be P A. C. Bates. Henry Sanders and Frederick H. Nicklin. .'Hie other subscribers are: H. A Richards. E. 0. Erickson. W. Attwood and V. M. Senders. The objects of the company are to purchase the invention from Mr. Bates ami set up the necessary machinery to provide mid supp'y electricity lor light, heat and power.
