A social and dance will be held in he Paki Paki Hall on Wednesday. The Citizens’ Band old-time dance and five hundred card tournament takes place as usual to-morrow evenins:. As the result of breaking into the premises of A. E. Strange, radio and electrical engineer, 404 Worcester street, Christchurch, on Friday night, thieves secured about £l3O worth of radio apparatus The thieves entered bv breaking the lock of a strong iron gate, which closes the right-of-way. and then got into the shop by forcing two boards off the door. The burglars concentrated on small, expensive pieces of wireless apparatus. The theft of £1350 hv misappropriation was alleged in the Police Court at Gisborne against John Noden Bullard, the solicitor who recently pleaded 'guilty to ten charges of a similar nature, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Friday’s charges concerned amounts received from two other clients alleged!” unaccounted for. accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence.
