NORTHERNERS CONSOLIDATIN GAINS. Shanghai, Aug. 20. The Southerners have commenced looting portions of the Nanking native quarters. Theie is spasmodic gunfire across the Yangstze river, which is blackened with river craft; conveying the last of the Southerners, who are leaving the north bank an, xious to place the river between themselves and the Northerners.
