COMINC-OF-ACE PARTY.

Last Friday evening Mr. and MrsE.Wall gave a very enjoyable party in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Hastings, to celebrate the coming ot age of tlieir son, Ernest Joseph. The had was beautifully decorated in multicoloured lights and streamers and the colour scheme oi the supper-room was carried out m mauve and pink, the tables being decorated to tone. The duties of M.C.’s were performed very ably by Messrs. J. Cameron and G.. Hook. About 60 couples danced to the excellent music of Waidin’s Band. z

During the evenings songs were rendered by Mrs. Colin Newrick, Miss E. Morgan and Mr. Rube HorsefieldExtras were played by Misses E. Morgan and M. Flanders. At supper. Mr. G. F. Roach, in a very happy speech, proposed the toast of the guest ot honour, and Mr Edwin Wad presented him with a golden key. Mr, F. Pimley proposed the toast of the parents and Mr G. Hook that of the godmother. Mrs H. Connop. Mr. Conn Newrick, in responding, proposed the toast of Miss Morgan. Other toasts honoured were of some old family friends: Mrs F. Pimley. whoso birthday fell on the same day; Mr and Mrs G. F. Roach. Mr and Mrs R. A. Wellwood and Mr J. C. Baird. "Absent Friends” was proposed by Mr. W. A. Timms- Altogether a most enjoyable evening was spent. Among those present were: — Mrs. E. Wall received her guests in a very smart frock of navy and beige. Mrs. H. Connop fWoodville) in a mode] frock of black embossed satin.

Mrs. T. Struthers wore a pretty dove-grey frock. Mrs. C. Newrick came in a pretty dress of navy crepe dechine and lace. Mrs. G. Wall in a smart navy frock. Mrs. Gordon Wall wore a cream frock beautifully headed with crystal. Mrs. J. Flanders wore a lovely frock of beige crepe de chine. Mrs. G. F. Roach came in a beautiful model frock of black relieved with cream and a cream wrap. Mrs. R. A. Wellwood wore blue marocain.

Mrs. F. W. Fergusson (Havelock North) wore a very pretty frock of lilac broche marocain. Mrs. F. Pimley came in black satin Mrs F. H. James (Napier) wore a smart dress of black crepe de chine and lace. Mrs J. E. Connor (Havelock North) wore black velvet with -a pretty fawn jabot.

Mrs. T. Emerson wore a pink frock with lace overdress Mrs. W. Timms came in a frock of grey crepe de chine. Mrs Wright wore blue silkMrs. R. Horsefield wore a black dress with a handsome shawl. Miss Dorothy Wall wore a very pretty frock of black velvet with a cyclamen posy.

Miss M. Connop wore a pretty dance frock daintily headed; her sister came in apricot crepe de chine. Miss Dulcie Wall wore a dress of lemon crepe de chine and her sister black taffetas.

Miss E. Morgan (Havelock North) wore a dainty frock of flame georgette and gold lace. Miss A. Wall had a smart black beaded frock. Her sister Elsie wore mauve crepe de chine. Miss F. Hislop in a black beaded crepe de chine.
