PAKURANGA MEETING. REPORTS ON PRINCIPAL EVENTS. The following accounts are takes from the “Dominion” :— Delightment and Royal Present failed to parade for the Jellicoe Handicap, and Llandudno was made a £75 better favourite than Maetei Doon, with Te Kara and Queen Arch next best backed. Queen Emerald led past the stands, but along the back Llandudno had taken charge from Queen Arch, Master Doon, Queen Emerald and Desert Glow, while Te Kara was second to last. Golden Krist being the only one behind him. Llandudno held his nosition across the top from Queen Arch. Desert Glow, Master Doon and Thursby, with Te Kara making up his ground quickly. Entering the straight he was lying fourth to Llandudno, Queen Arch aud Master Doon, but there was little between tho quartet. A furlong from the post. Queen Arch looked a winner, but Master Doon finished strongly on the rails and got home by a neck. Lian dudno was a length away third, with Te Kara close up fourth. Tinoiti. Queen Emerald, Thursby, Harbour View and Desert Glow were next, while Golden Krist was last all the way and finished in that place Henderson rode a great finish on the winner, and it was due to him that .Master Doon got home. Queen Arch stayed on better than was expected, and with a little more luck might have won. Te Kara also ran a great race, for he was one of the last five furlongs from home. DUNEDIN HANDICAP. Eden Hall and Le Clioucas were scratched for the Dunedin Handicap, and Town Guard was made favourite, carrying about £4O more than Delightment, while King Lu was next in request. Finelli opened up a big break on the field before a couple ol turlongs had been covered, iritis Whaka King, Delightment, King Emerald, Day Guard. Town Guard and Automne next. Finelli was ne. ginning to stop when the bend was reached, and Whaka King, Delight ment, Town Guard and King Emerald were very handy. Delightment then took charge and won by four lengths from King Lu, who put in a great run and beat Antomne by a neck for second place. Town Guard, King Emerald, Whaka King, Tinokoa, Day Guard and Finelli were next. King Lu was very unlucky, for he was not sighted during the early stages. If he had been handy at the turn ha must have troubled Delightment.
