CROSS COUNTRY H&CE. WON BY GEORGE HYDE. Melbourne, Aug. 21. The five fiiHes amateur cross country running championship of Victoria resulted:—George Hyde 1, E. Moore 2, C. Willis 3. Time, 27 minutes 25i seconds. TEN MILES CROSS-COUNTRY. Sydney, Aug. 21. The ten miles amateur cross-coun-try championship of New South Wales resulted:—A. Gaisford 1. M, Mackenzie 2, R. Bateman 3. Time, 51min. I9sec. The time indicates tho distance was apparently 1000 yards short of ten miles.
