BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Bishop Cleary is still hammering away at the Bible in Schools Bill —methinks he intends to hammer away until he drives the Bible out of the Bill. At the outset it was the Bible that was wanted to be read Tins was kicked against; then it was modified and modified until we have the present suggested bill. But this does not satisfy. What does the Bishop want? The Bible is an enemy to the abounding sins of our day both spiritual and moral. Why prevent the most needed of all books from being put where it is most needed? —1 am, etc., INTERESTED. Hastings, 17/8/27,
