REPLY TO “BRITISH FIRST.”
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Perhaps you will allow me space to advise “British First” that I have had the honour of serving my country. I quite agree with “British First” that it is our duty to support Britain and all his arguments are familiar to me, but we must support also our local manufacturers. The point is—would it not be British fair play to allow the New Zealand manufacturer to make caps for the Hastings High School providing they are equal value with the British article and allow the public to buy which they like? In this way we would be supporting both Britain and New Zealand—surely true patriotism. I am proud to know there are men like “British First” in Hastings.—l am, etc., NEW ZEALANDER. Hastings, 20/8/27.
