NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS THE NEW TITLE HOLDERS. Invercargill Aug. 19. The finals of the New Zealand boxing championships were fought out last evening before a record attendance. The titles went to Auckland (2). Wellington (2), Taranaik (2), Canterbury (1) and Otago (4). The new title holders are: Fly, N. Roebuck (Taranaki); bantam, J. O’Sullivan (Auckland); feather. T. Donovan (Taranaki); light. E- Mor-, gan (Wellington); welter, E. Armishaw (Auckland); middle, C. Pocock (Canterbury); light-heavy, A. J. Cleverly (Wellington); heavy, J. G. Leckie (Otago).

The John Jameson Belt for the most scientific display of the tournament went to J. O Sullivan, the Auck land bantam champion.

Flyweight final—S. Purton (Greymouth), 7.9. lost to N. Roebuck (Taranaki), 7.9- Determined scrapping by the Taranaki boy flustered Purton, who weakened as the bout progressed.

Bantam weight. —J. O’Sullivan (Auckland), 8.0. beat C. Brosnahan (Christchurch), 8.0, on points, after a willing fight. It was a close decision. H. Larsen (Wellington), 8.0, beat W. Parker (Otago), 7.10, on points. Larsen made it a fight from start to finish, his win being popular Final: O'Sullivan (Auckland) bent Larsen (Wellington) on a doubtful decision. Larsen swarmed over his man in the final round. Larsen was the nv <t popular figure at. the tournament.

Featherweight final.—C. Donovan (Taranaki). 8.10. beat W. G. Leckie (Otago). 8:12, on points. Except for the final round. Leckie was outclassed by -his unorthodox opponent, who out-punched and out-boxed him.

Lightweight final.—E. Morgan (Wellington). 9.10. beat A- Jones (Southland). 9.8. on points. Both men were manoeuvring to deliver a knock-out most of the time, Morgan chasing Jones round and round. Morgan won easily, but did not force matters.

Welterweights.—S. Hughes (Otago) 10.5, lost to E. Armishaw (Andri •- 10.4, after a very even bout. Final: 0. Jaggers (Christchurch), 10.0, losi to Armishaw (Auckland). .Utts'- '

forced the fighting all the way, but could not break through the Aucklander's longer reach in the earlier stages. From midway in the second round the fighting was hectic and aroused great enthusiasm from the crowd. Armishaw’s left and longer reach won him the decision.

Middleweight final. — C. Pocock (Christchurch), 11.2, knocked out H. Cotter (Greymouth), 10.11, in the second round Cotter rushed into a right- to the chin and knocked his head on the floor. He was trying to rise at the count of ten. Pocock had a clean lead on points at the time.

Light-heavyweight final—A. Cleverley (Wellington). 11-6, knocked out C. Hogg (Auckland). 11.7, in the first round. Hogg walked into Cleverley's left shortly after the gong went.

Heavyweight final.—J. G. Leckie (Otago). 12.9, outpointed A. Campbell (N. Otago), 12.10. in a cautious fight. Ixith men standing off for most of the time. The decision met with a mixed reception.
