Tate was the first. — (A. and N.Z.) BARRACKING DEPLORED. London, Aug. 17. Following barracking owing to Lancashire's stonewalling yesterday, when Hallows batted for two hours for seven runs, saving the game, Councillor Clarkson and Aiderman Heath, Nottinghamites, strongly deplored the Notts supporters' barracking. They declared that it was disgraceful and they were ashamed of the sportsmanship of the Notts public, who, if they could not see their side lose, ought not to follow any game except pingpong—(A. and N.Z.)
