Judging by the entries for the Royal Agricultural Show in London, the gladiolus has become a favourite garden flower, and many new varieties are displayed, ranging from white to deep purple. The winner of the first prize exhibited twelve varieties. one of which is named Princess Elizabeth, The secretary of the society predicts that in a few wars the gladiolus will outclass all other flowers.
