CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE. The annual conference of the New Zealand Institute ut Surveyors was concluded yesterday afternoon in Napier, the members being taken on a tour of the district aft r the general meeting. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as below :—President, .Mr. Preston Chambers (Auckland); .Messrs A. F. Waters (Wellington), H. L. Paterson (Dunedin) and A. H. Bogle (Wanganui) were returned to the council unopposed; auditor, Mr. W. S. Wheeler. ALTERING A SCHEDULE. In mentioning certain anomalies in tine schedule of charges in the Town Planning Act. Mr. Paxton contended that the time was ripe for the revision of such changes to convert them into a workable scale. In this respect he moved that it be a recommendation to the incoming council to have the existing scale revised. .Mr. Miller seconded the motion, adding that he thought the present schedule had several very giare faults The motion was carried unanimously- ♦
