(To the Editor.) Sir, —1 hope the Hastings Chamber of Commerce has not gone cold on the above proposition. For the benefit of the district as a whole, no more beneficial undertaking could be put tn hand. The opportunity of getting contracts done on a reasonable basis is now present. Also abunuanee of labour is available. The Te Ante drainage question has been worn threadbare. Surely the time is opportune to get a move on.—l nm etc., PUKEKO.
