NEXT ROYAL SHOW
JUDGES AND RESERVE JUDGES COMMITTEE’S RECOM. MENDATIUNS. Preliminary arrangements for the Royal Show, to be held in Christchurch in November, are now well in hand. The reports of the sub-committee set up to deal with the Royal Show schedule were presented at a recent meeting of the general committee cf th Christchurch A. and P. Association. The schedule in the cattle section was left the same as last year, with the addition of champion ribbons for male and female fh the Guernsey section, and a class for a three-year-old bull in all sections. In the pig section, a class for the Large White breed was added, and also a class for porkers and baconers. Minor deletions and alterations were made in the sheep section. In the light horse schedule classes were added for best section over hurdles. Lloyd Lindsay, tent pegging, Victoria Cross Judges for the horses and sheep sections of the show were recoin mended as follow :—Light horses, hunters, and saddle horses: Mr. J H. Jeffard. Hastings; reserves: Mr C. D. Beatson, Hastings. Mr. j. H. Macniven, Haumoana, Clive. Harness horses: Mr. J. Walker. Outram; reserves: Mr. W. L. Bourn, Fairlie, South> Canterbury; Mr. R. H. Bis sett, Timaru. Cobs and ponies; Mr L. W. Nelson, Auckland: reserves Mr. J. H. Macniven, Haumoana, Clive; Mr, G. H. Perry. Masterton Sheep —Merinos: Mr. J Gattenby, Hastings. English Leicester rams: Mr. Isaac Andrew, Fendalton • reserves: Mr. I. g. Little. Winds. English Leicester ewes: Mr H. T. Little, Woodgrove; reserves: Mr J. E. P. Cameron, Timaru. Border 1/eicesters: Mr, George Hartnell, Culverden; reserves: Mr. Alex Murray. Balclutha. Lincolns: Mr A I) McMaster, Featherston; reserves, Mr. J. G. McDonald. Carterton’ Southdowns: Mr. W. J. With reference to the revision of the judges’ list, it was decided that the secrethrv prepare a list, from those previously recommended for consideration at a further meeting.
