At Southampton Tilden defeated George Lott, 6—2, 7—5, 6—2, in the final of the Meadows Club invitation tourney. PROFESSIONALS ASSOCIATION. ' London, Aug. 12. The British Professionals Lawn Tennis Association was formally in augurated under the presidency of Sir Samuel Hoare. Mr. 0. F. Housley, presiding, said there was nothing to prevent professionals and amateurs co-operating as in the case of cricket. The day was not far distant when British professionals would hold their own with any amateur in the worid. The association is arranging a professional tournament in September with the object of securing a combined tournament later.—(A. and N.Z.)
