AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. PLAY IN AUCKLAND. Auckland, Aug. 12. E. W. Warren, Auckland, four times champion, met W. Bronley, Civil Service. Wellington, champion, at the Federal Club to-night, in the New Zealand amateur billiard championship. Warren scored rapidly at first, reaching S(X) in an hour and 35 minutes. He then took a quarter of an hour to make 23 and forged ahead of his opponent, who played consistent, all round billiards hut lacks knowledge of the finer points of the game.
