WEDDING.
POWNALL—TOMKINS.
On Wednesday last the Port Presbyterian Church was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding, when Miss Kathleen Tonkins, of New South Wales, was married to Mr Alfred Pownall. The Rev Hughes officiated. The bride looked charming in a truck of ivory georgette embroidered in silver and finished with pleated frills. She also wore a lace veil with coronet of orange blossoms and silver leaves. Her bouquet was of pink and wuite flowers with maiden hair fern. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Ida Cave, of Ohakune. who wore a mauve frock of crepe de chine with cream hat. Miss Hazel Walton wore an apricot frock nf crepe do ’bine with hat and shoes to tone. They both carried bouquets of spring flowers. The best man was Mr 8. Jenny, of Hastings. Mr Faeron acted as groomsman. A reception took place at the residence of Mr and Mrs Walton, Bat tery road. Mrs Walton received her guests in a pretty frock of biege morocain relieved with blue with smart hat of beige straw.
