In the match for the Douglas Rose Bowl, fired at Napier on Saturdav. the local team was defeated bv the narrow margin of one point. The club’s next shoot takes ‘place cn Wednesday. 17th inst.. when valuable trophies, presented bv Mr Neilsen, jeweller, of Napier, and Mr Furminger. Waipawa will be competed for. The competition will comprise a series of three nine-bird matches, and a bird handicap being allowed, the novices should have a p-ood chance of annexing the prizes. Tuesday afternoon was the district “San" day. and a very large quantity of gift was sent up to Pukeora, including a beautiful lot of flowers, books, etc. Cars were loaned bv Mrs Warren, Mrs G.
