J.C.W. CELEBRITY VAUDEVILLE
BOX PLAN OPENED. The unusual interest being taken by Hastings residents in the new J. C. Williamson Celebrity Vaudeville Company which will play for one night at the Municipal Theatre on Tuesday next was demonstrated today by the instantaneous demand for seats when the box plan opened at Fail’s. The company comprises the greatest galaxy of stars ever brought to the Dominion. Ten great acts are represented, and the greatest novelty among them—indeed, the greatest novelty of its kind in the world—is Belmont's Canary Opera, direct from Ziegfeld Follies. This is the only feathered opera company in existence, and to actually believe that Belmont has trained his little songsters to imitate a complete opera, this act must bo seen in its entirety. Dick Henderson, the famous London come, dian, has had the honour of two command performances, and is known through the world as “the man who made the Queen laugh.” Rich and Adair the American favourites, will present their wonderful novelty, "The Flower Vendor,” and Les. Zenga Freres have a beautiful Parisian dancing act. Valencia is a Spanish daredevil on the flying trapeze, and Marie Lawton is the charming young artist with the harp and the voice. The Leo Sisters, known everywhere as “the aerial girls,” delight and thrill, and Colin Crane, eminent baritone, possesses a voice of a quality rarely heard in vaudeville. Stella Lamonde. the vivamous soubrette, has an act that is just one series of sparkling moments.
