ENGLISH COUNTY GAMES. London, Aug. 9. Surrey in the first innings made 370 for 5 (declared) (Sandham 121, Ducatt 100). Middlesex in the first made 139 (Hendren 86; Peach five for 65) and in the second, 37 for none. Surrey won on the first innings. Kent in the first compiled 241 (Kyott 96, Valentine 61; McDonald live for 73). Lacanshire replied with 331 for seven (E. Tyldesley 13'3 not out). Lancashire won on the first innings. For Essex against Glamorgan, Hipkin took seven for 34; for Glamorgan Ryan captured five for 76. Essex won. For Gloucester against Hampshire Dipper made 100 and Parker took 8 for 32. For Hampshire Newman captured seven for 126. Gloucester won.
For Derby against Notts, Storer scored 148. The game was drawn. For Northants against Sussex, Jupp secured five for 43; for Sussex Whittaker took five for 36- Sussex won. Rain interfered with all matches.— (A.P.A. and “Sun” cable).
