WEDDING.
CHAPMAN—BUTLER. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, this morning, wheu the Rev. W. T. Drake joined in matrimony Dorothy Averill Butler, daughter ot the late Air and Airs W. L. Butler, of Gisborne, and Frederick Rutherford Chapman, son of Mr. and MrsT. P. Chapman, “Wainiatu,” Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother-in-law. Air. T. H. Gill, looked very charming in an ivory georgette frock beaded in blue and silver- the bodice having a vandyked effect. She carried a bouquet of anemomes and violets. Attending the bride was Aliss Mora Steed, of Napier, who wore a pretty frock of cornflower blue channeuse, the tight-fitting bodice being allied to a full skirt of crepe-ninon scalloped at the hem. Her bouquet consisted of carnations and roses-
The best man was Mr. Cecil Chapman, brother of the bridegroom. The wedding breakfast was held at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs T. H. Gill, Havelock road, and later the happy couple left for a motor tour of the North Island. The bride travelled in a bois-de-rose repp pleated skirt with cape attached, fawn toque and fur coat to match.
