HASTINGS BAPTIST CHURCH.
GRAND CONCERT. A grand concert, under the auspices of the Young People’s Institute, took place in the Hastings Baptist Schoolroom, last evening. The Rev. T. Keith Ewen presided over a large audience. An excellent programme was submitted and every item was enthusiastically encored. Those contributing were:—-Misses M. Penman, C. Compton, C. Wallace, Mr W- A. Bryant (songs); Miss B. Macdonald, R. L. Price, R. E. Barley (monologues); Messrs. S. Widdop, H. MeKain, Masters W. Kean, Colin Barkle, D. Christie, and the Wilkinson Harmony Four (instrumental items); Master Billy Inge (ventriloquial item). A mirth-provoking dialogue was creditably perfoimed by Misses M. Sowersby, G- Sissons, C. Burn, M .and B. Macdonald, and E. Shakespeare, Messrs. R. Price, J. Fear, F. E. Barley and Master Tom Jeffery, Miss Napier was the efficient accompanist. The singing of the Natonal Anthem terminated a most successful concert.
