Rook, in attempting to take off at Augangabad in continuation of his flight to Australia, on August 4, crashed into a palm tree. The machine was wrecked and Rook was seriously injured and sent to hospital, but is now recovering Prince Purachatra of Siam, Com-missioner-General of the Siam railways, has postponed his proposed visit to New Zealand. He will now leave .Sydney on August 19th, arriving at Wellington on August 23rd. He will make a short tour of the North Island only, leaving Auckland on September 2nd. In the compensation ease, Noel Paton versus the Wairau River Board (appearing elsewhere in this issue), the claimant was awarded £7B compensation.
