(Own Correspondent). The long night dance held in the schoolroom on Friday night was a very enjoyable and suecesslul function, visitors attending Irom Hastings, Havelock and Iraki Paki, and the large number present seemed to enter into the spirit of the dancing and thoroughly enjoyed the good music provided by Mr Wi Kam- Mr. H. Thomson matte an efficient M.C. and Mr. McKissick played an extra. During the evening a Monte Carlo dance was put on and was won by Miss Coopt-. and Mr. C. Barclay botii of Paki Paki.

A very delectable supper was provided by the ladies and was presided over by Mesdames Bnttin, Thompson and Evans. Dancing was kept up until the small hours.

The next euchre party and dance will be held in the schoolroom on Friday, August 19th, and the committee hope to see all their old friends present and as many new ones as care to come along. The usual school committee meeting was held on Monday evening. Present: Mr. J. Mackenzie (chairman), Mr A. Brittin (secretary). Mrs Evans and Messrs. Evans and Thomson and the school mistress, (Miss Ferguson. Several matters appertaining to the welfare of the school were discussed and it was decided to hold a concert in aid of picnic and school funds about the end of October. The attendance at the school has been very good, considering the prevalence of mumps and colds amongst the children.
