SILLY PRACTICAL JOKE
TOY BOMB IN TUBE STATION. (Received 10, 9.20 a.m.) London, Aug. 9. A home-made bomb exploded in the Aldwych tube station. There were no casualties. Porters rushed downstairs to the men’s cloakroom where they found the damage trivial, being limited to a slight crack in one wall. Tube officials are inclined to believe it was the work of a practical joker. A tin containing an explosive mixture was left in the cloakroom and when it exploded there was only a slight report and very little smoke.— (A.P.A. and ‘Sun” cable.)
