HASTINGS W.E.A.
LECTURE TO-MORROW NIGHT. “Elizabethan Sea Captains" is the delightful subject upon which Mr. A. Ernest Mander, of Victoria University College, will lecture to-morrow (Thursday) night at 8 o'clock, in Wesley Hall, Hastings. The romantic story of the development of Britain's sea power during the 16th century will provide a most thrilling narrative, excellently illustrated by Mr. Mander'a entrancing descriptive sketches of the outstanding figures of the time. Those sturdy English “sea dogs,” Drake, Hawkins, Raleigh, Grenville, Frobisher, etc., will be admirably and powerfully portrayed, and a thoroughly entertaining and illuminating lecture is assured. Mr. W. A. G. Penlington, M.A., will preside. The tutorial class in logic will meet at 7 p.m.
