J.C. WILLIAMSON’S LATEST. Coming direct from record-breaking sei sons in Auckland and Welling ton, the new J. C. Williamson Celebrity Vaudeville Company will play for one night only at the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, on Tuesday next, August 16. The combination has been acclaimed the greatest galaxy of international stars ever brought to the Dominion. Heading the bill is the famous English comedian, Dick Hen derson, known throughout the world as the man who made the Queen laugh. He has had the honour of two Royal command performances, and has a line of humour all his own. He also possesses a remarkably fine singing voice. The greatest novelty nf its kind in the world is Joseph Belmont's Canary Opera, direct from sensational seasons with the Ziegfeld Follies. Belmont has trained some twenty little songsters to follow, note for note, vocal or instrumental music, and the result is amazing. The renowned American character actor, Phil Rich, and his beautiful partner,/Alyce Adair (a former “Miss Chicago”) have a gem of an act in “The Flower Vendor,” well billed as a triumph of artistry acting comedy. The Parisian idols, Les Zenga Frenes, offer a wonderful dancing number, and Valencia, the Spanish dare-devil on the flying trapeze, provides the thrills of a lifetime. Marie Lawton never fails to eharm with her harp and vocal numbers, while Colin Crane, the eminent, baritone, has the happy knack of singing songs that please all. The Lee Sisters, aerial girls, have an extraordinary a<-t, and Stella Lamonde is the most vivacious of soubrettes. Popular prices are being charged and the box plan will open at Fail’s on Friday morning next.
