At the opening of the Supreme Court sessions, Mr Justice McGregor congratulated the Grand Jurv on the fact that there was only one criminal case for consideration. Patrick Byrne, who had pleaded guilty to the assault of Constable Parkinson and causing bodilv harm, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be cumulative.
