PUBLIC LECTURE TO-NIGHT.
Mr T Ernest Mander. of Victoria University College, will lecture tonight in Wesley Hall. Hastings, at 8 o'clock upon “Sir Thomas More and His Times.” A general favourite bv reason of his orofound learning and readv wit. Sir Thomas More quickly won the favour of Henrv VIII. and in due course was appointed Chancellor. As a scholar and writer he ranked amongst the elite of his day; and in his masterpiece. “Utopia.” helped -o lav the foundations of modern political science, anticipatit'g rnanv reforms which have since come to pass. Mr Mander will graphicallv nortrav this man of gentle life and surpassing culture: and this lecture will throw much light upon life and thought in England in the earlv years of the sixteenth century. Mr W. Taylor will preside.
