HASTINGS CITIZENS’ BAND.

ENJOYABLE CONCERT.

The Hastings Municipal Theatre was well filled last night with a very appreciative audience on the occasion of the concert given by the band, but the enjoyment of the assemblage was considerably marred by the misconduct of some ill-disposed youths, whose behaviour was noisy causing both the management and the audience considerable annoyance. The following programme was submitted, every item being encored:— Hymn, '‘Pax Dei”; overture, “Royal Windsor”; selection, “The Mikado’’; selection, “American Beauties”; “Red, Red Robin,” and the march, “Collingwood,” all played by the band. Miss Maud Baker sang Guonod’s beautiful Ave Maria, with much devotional feeling, replying to an encore with the number “Vale.” Mr A. Currie contributed a popular Scotch selection on a violin, Mi T. Williams sang “City of Laughter” very effectively, whilst Mr T. McKain delighted his hearers with his performance on the steel guitar, each of these artists receiving an encore. Th© collection takep up in aid of the band’s funds amounted to £lO 13s.
