BLUFF HILL CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Bluff Hill Bowling Club was held in the Chamber of Commerce rooms last week, and was presided over by Air Somerset Smith (president). There was a good attendance of members, who show’ed keen interest in the club’s welfare. The balance sheet showed a marked improvement in the club’s finances, while the annual report fully traversed the doings for the year. Both balance sheet and report were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follow:—President, Air C. Douglas; vice-president, Air A. E. Bedford (reelected); ground superintendent, Air A. E. Bedford (re-elected); committee, Messrs Barlow, McGlashan, Steeple and Triggs; delegates to E.C.8.C., Messrs C. Douglas and Somerset Smith; selectors Alessrs Watters, AlcLarcn and Thomson; honorary auditor, Air Tennent (re-elect-ed;; honorary secretary and treasurer, Air J. T. Thomson (re-elected). Trophies were presented for— Champion singles, Mr Somerset Smith; handicap singled, Mr Barlow; handicap pairs, Messrs Bcstall and AlcLennan; feathers, Messrs McGlashan, McLennan and Newton. Reference was made to the loss the club had sustained in the deaths of Alessrs McKinnon and Reancy, two highly respected members. Votes of thanks were passed to the outgoing officers, the ground superintendent, the caretaker and the ladies.
