THE CALIFORNIA 'QUAKES.
FURTHER DAMAGE. Vancouver, Jan. 2. Recurrent earth shocks to-day increased the damage at Calexico and Mexicali. Fire destroyed two buildings.—(A. and N.Z.) SHOCKS IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, Jan. 4. A slight earthquake at 10.45 last evening was immediately followed by a more severe jolt, but not of sufficient severity to cause damage.
