STOREMAN’S SUICIDE.
Christchurch, Aug. 23. An inquest touching the death ot Edmund George Ellis was held in Christchurch yesterday morning by Mr. H. Y. Widdowson, coroner. Ellis was found dead at his residence on Sunday with a razor cut in his throat. He was a married man, aged 46, and leaves a wife and .three children Ellis was a storeman. but had been out ol employment for some time. The cause of death, said Dr. John Borrie. who arrived at the house a few minutes after Ellis had died, was haemorrhage. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the doctor’s evidence, and added that Ellis had committed suicide while in a depressed state of mind.
