ADVERTISING LOWER PRICES
Despite the diatribes of soapbox orators, whose economies have never been applied to selling groceries and draperies, let alone ploughs and tractors, effective advertising lowers the prices of commodities, besides introducing varieties. By bringing about volume production it lowers production costs. By making sales easier it lowers selling costs. Its competition adds variety of products and thereby raises standards of living; and side bv side with this, advertising tends to stabilise quality, because the advertiser of a line sets himself a mark in his brand up to which he must live.
