WAIKAREMOANA POWER.
CONDITIONS OF COMMENCEMENT. At, yesterday’s meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board the chairman, Air. .1. B. Andrew, reported having attended a conference in Wellington when various Power Boards using Alangahao power waited upon the Prime Minister and the chief electrical engineer. Mr. Kissel, asking that the electric lines from Alangahao be duplicated in order to create Jess inconvenience when breakdowns occurred. 'The subject of Waikaremoa-na. Air. Andrew said, was broached and it appeared that there was more likelihood of Waikaremoana being gone on .with than of the Alangahao linos being duplicated. As soon as-Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay signed up Waikarenmana would be gone on with, which would be only about six months later than it would take to duplicate the present Alangahao lines. Referring to breakdowns Air Andrew said that these in future would bo less frequent than previously as special new oil switches were now beino- used, greatly reducing the possibilities of breakdowns.
