EFFECT OF AUSTRALIAN TREATY Vancouver, Jan. 19. Criticism of the Australian trade treaty insofar as it affects the fruit industry in Canada was featured in the presidential address by Mr Lionel Ward, at the annual meeting of the British Columbia Fruit Growers’ Association at Vernon, British Columbia, on Tuesday. Mr. Ward warned his hearers that the “treaty in one which will have very serious effects on the fruit and vegetable industry of the province, as already quotations have been received for apricot pulp at a lower delivered price than the growers have been receiving in the past for fresh fruit.
