LINEN MERCHANTS’ APPEAL.
£908,989 INCOME TAX. London, Dec. 15. Tho Appeal Court dismissed the appeal by Leonard Martin, linen merchant, against an income tax assessment of £908,989, declining to recognise his contention that the amount on which this assessment had been made was a gamble, and not an ordinary business transaction. —(Sydney “Sun” special.) _
